With over 19 years of experience working with both adolescents and adults in various public and private settings, I have honed my skills in employing a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to each client's unique needs. These include cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, and trauma-focused treatment.
At Creating Solutions, I am here to support you every step of the way on your journey to healing and growth. I am committed to providing you with a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly and honestly.
My Approach
My approach to therapy is warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and works collaboratively with my clients to identify their goals and create a treatment plan that is tailored to their unique needs.
Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a goal-oriented approach that helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors contributing to psychological distress. It emphasizes collaboration between therapist and client to develop coping strategies for managing emotions and improving mental well-being.
With a compassion-focused approach, we'll foster an environment of empathy and understanding, acknowledging the complexities of the human experience without judgment. This approach is grounded in principles of self-compassion and acceptance, this therapeutic method encourages clients to cultivate kindness towards themselves and others, facilitating healing and personal growth.
Compassion
Focused
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy
(EMDR)
Through this approach, I guide clients through a structured process that involves recalling distressing memories while simultaneously focusing on external stimuli like hand movements or sounds. This approach helps to reprocess traumatic experiences, reducing their emotional impact and enabling clients to integrate them more adaptively into their lives.
Person
Centered
In this approach, we'll create a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients can feel safe to express themselves authentically. Through active listening and reflection, I help clients gain insight into their feelings, thoughts, and experiences, empowering them to find their own solutions
Strength
Based
The strength-based approach focuses on identifying and harnessing an individual's inherent strengths, resources, and capabilities to address challenges and achieve personal goals. Rather than solely focusing on deficits or problems, this approach emphasizes leveraging existing strengths to promote resilience and empower growth.
Trauma
Focused
This approach involves creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can process and integrate their traumatic memories through evidence-based techniques such as cognitive restructuring, exposure therapy, and mindfulness, this helps clients understand and regulate their emotional responses, alleviate symptoms of trauma-related disorders such as PTSD, and facilitate healing and resilience.
